1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS
Welcome to BillByte. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and Terabyte S.A.S ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") regarding your access to and use of the BillByte mobile application ("App," "Application," or "Service").
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the BillByte application, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must immediately cease all use of the Application and uninstall it from your device.
Important: These Terms apply to all users of BillByte, including but not limited to accountants, auditors, business owners, and enterprise employees who access the Application.
2. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES
BillByte is a comprehensive mobile application designed for tax management, accounting, and financial compliance. The Application provides the following services and features:
- Multi-Account Login with Biometric Authentication: Support for multiple user accounts on the same device with Face ID, Touch ID, or fingerprint authentication capabilities.
- Tax Calendar with Expiration Alerts: Visual alerts and notifications for tax deadlines, with dedicated search functionality for auditor profiles.
- Enhanced Settings and User Profile: User profile management including profile photos, company logos, and account information display.
- Complete Synchronization System: Automatic background synchronization every 4 minutes with pull-to-refresh capability and real-time UI updates.
- Push Notification System: Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) integration for Android and Apple Push Notification Service (APNS) for iOS.
- Error Analytics System: Automatic error tracking and reporting for application stability and improvement.
- Document Management: Access to financial documents, reports, and accounting records.
- Offline Functionality: Local data storage using encrypted SQLite and IndexedDB for offline access.
3. USER REGISTRATION AND ACCOUNT SECURITY
3.1 Account Creation
To access the full functionality of BillByte, you must create an account or be granted access by your organization's administrator. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process and to update such information to keep it accurate, current, and complete.
3.2 Account Credentials
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials, including your username, password, and any biometric authentication data. You agree to:
- Create a strong, unique password for your account
- Not share your account credentials with any third party
- Immediately notify us of any unauthorized access to your account
- Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account
3.3 Multiple Accounts
BillByte supports multiple user accounts on a single device. Each account maintains separate encrypted credential storage. You acknowledge that:
- Each account is subject to these Terms individually
- You are responsible for all accounts registered under your control
- Accounts cannot be transferred or shared between users
4. BIOMETRIC AUTHENTICATION
4.1 Biometric Data Collection
BillByte utilizes device-native biometric authentication systems (Face ID, Touch ID, or fingerprint recognition) to provide secure and convenient access to your account. We do not collect, store, or have access to your actual biometric data. All biometric authentication is handled exclusively by your device's operating system.
4.2 Biometric Authentication Consent
By enabling biometric authentication in BillByte, you consent to:
- The use of your device's biometric authentication capabilities
- Automatic validation of saved accounts using biometric data
- Storage of encrypted authentication tokens linked to biometric authentication
4.3 Security Limitations
While biometric authentication provides enhanced security, you acknowledge that:
- The security of biometric authentication depends on your device's hardware and operating system
- We are not responsible for vulnerabilities in third-party biometric systems
- You should maintain alternative authentication methods (passwords) as backup
5. DATA STORAGE AND SYNCHRONIZATION
5.1 Local Data Storage
BillByte stores data locally on your device using encrypted SQLite databases and IndexedDB. This local storage enables offline functionality and improves application performance.
5.2 Automatic Synchronization
The Application performs automatic background synchronization with our servers every 4 minutes. This synchronization:
- Downloads server data to your local device storage
- Updates your local data to reflect the most current information
- Maintains scroll position and user interface state during updates
- Occurs only as a download process (server to device)
5.3 Manual Synchronization
You can manually trigger synchronization at any time using the pull-to-refresh gesture available on all application pages.
5.4 Media Assets
BillByte automatically downloads and caches user profile photos and company logos for display within the Application. These assets are stored locally and are available for offline access.
6. PUSH NOTIFICATIONS
6.1 Notification System
BillByte uses Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) for Android and Apple Push Notification Service (APNS) for iOS to deliver push notifications. By using the Application, you consent to receive:
- Tax deadline alerts and reminders
- Important system notifications and updates
- Account-related notifications
- Application updates and feature announcements
6.2 Token Management
The Application automatically generates and manages push notification tokens. These tokens are:
- Linked to your user session
- Uploaded to our backend servers for notification delivery
- Automatically refreshed when necessary
- Deleted when you log out or uninstall the Application
6.3 Opting Out
You may disable push notifications at any time through your device's system settings. However, disabling notifications may limit your ability to receive important tax deadline alerts and system updates.
7. ERROR ANALYTICS AND MONITORING
7.1 Automatic Error Capture
BillByte includes an automatic error analytics system that captures application errors and crashes. This system:
- Collects technical information about application errors
- Stores error reports in our master database for analysis
- Includes user session and device information for context
- Helps us identify and fix recurring issues
7.2 Purpose of Analytics
Error analytics data is used exclusively for:
- Improving application stability and performance
- Identifying and fixing bugs
- Enhancing user experience
- Providing better technical support
7.3 Data Collected
Error reports may include:
- Device information (model, operating system version)
- Application version and configuration
- Error messages and stack traces
- User session identifier (non-personal)
- Timestamp and context of the error
8. USER OBLIGATIONS AND PROHIBITED CONDUCT
8.1 Acceptable Use
You agree to use BillByte only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:
- Use the Application in any way that violates applicable local, national, or international law
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Application or its systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the Application's servers or networks
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Application
- Remove or modify any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices
- Use automated systems or software to extract data from the Application
- Transmit any malicious code, viruses, or harmful components
- Impersonate another user or provide false information
8.2 Data Accuracy
While we strive to provide accurate and up-to-date information, you are responsible for:
- Verifying the accuracy of all tax deadlines and financial information
- Consulting with qualified professionals for tax and accounting advice
- Maintaining backup records of all financial data
- Reporting any inaccuracies or errors to us promptly
9. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS
9.1 Ownership
The BillByte Application, including all content, features, functionality, source code, designs, graphics, user interface, and documentation, is owned by Terabyte S.A.S and is protected by Colombian and international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.
9.2 Limited License
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:
- Download and install the Application on your personal devices
- Access and use the Application for your personal or internal business purposes
9.3 Restrictions
You may not:
- Copy, modify, or create derivative works of the Application
- Sell, rent, lease, sublicense, or distribute the Application
- Use the Application to develop competing products or services
- Remove, alter, or obscure any proprietary notices on the Application
9.4 User Content
You retain ownership of any data, documents, or content you upload to the Application. By uploading content, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display such content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

11. DISCLAIMERS AND LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
11.1 Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APPLICATION IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that:
- The Application will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
- The information provided through the Application is accurate, complete, or current
- Any defects or errors will be corrected
- The Application is free from viruses or other harmful components
11.2 Professional Advice Disclaimer
BillByte provides information and tools for tax management and accounting purposes. However:
- The Application does not provide professional tax, accounting, or legal advice
- You should consult with qualified professionals for specific advice
- We are not responsible for decisions made based on information from the Application
11.3 Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL TERABYTE S.A.S, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM:
- Your use or inability to use the Application
- Any unauthorized access to or use of our servers and/or any personal information stored therein
- Any interruption or cessation of transmission to or from the Application
- Any bugs, viruses, or other harmful code that may be transmitted through the Application
- Any errors or omissions in any content or for any loss or damage incurred as a result of the use of any content posted, transmitted, or otherwise made available through the Application
11.4 Maximum Liability
In no event shall our total liability to you for all damages exceed the amount paid by you to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or one hundred US dollars (USD $100.00), whichever is greater.
12. INDEMNIFICATION
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Terabyte S.A.S and its officers, directors, employees, contractors, agents, licensors, and suppliers from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to:

- Your use of the Application
- Your violation of any rights of another party

13. SERVICE MODIFICATIONS AND AVAILABILITY

- Discontinuation of the Service
14.3 Effect of Termination
Upon termination:
- Your right to use the Application will immediately cease
- You must uninstall the Application from all devices
- We may delete your account and all associated data
- Provisions that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, and limitations of liability
15. DATA RETENTION AND DELETION

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. We may retain certain information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.
15.2 Data Deletion Requests
You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at comercial@terabyte.com.co. We will process your request within 30 days, subject to:
- Legal obligations to retain certain information
- Legitimate business needs
- Resolution of disputes or enforcement of agreements
15.3 Local Data
Data stored locally on your device will remain until you uninstall the Application or clear application data through your device settings.
16. GOVERNING LAW AND DISPUTE RESOLUTION
16.1 Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Colombia, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
16.2 Jurisdiction
Any legal action or proceeding arising under these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the courts located in Bogotá, Colombia, and you hereby irrevocably consent to the personal jurisdiction and venue of such courts.
16.3 Dispute Resolution
Before filing a legal claim, you agree to attempt to resolve any dispute informally by contacting us at comercial@terabyte.com.co. We will attempt to resolve the dispute informally within 30 days.
16.4 Class Action Waiver
To the extent permitted by law, you agree that any dispute resolution proceedings will be conducted only on an individual basis and not in a class, consolidated, or representative action.
17. CHANGES TO TERMS
We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time at our sole discretion. If a revision is material, we will provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect through:

- Email to your registered email address
- Notice on our website
By continuing to access or use the Application after revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms. If you do not agree to the new terms, you must stop using the Application.
18. GENERAL PROVISIONS
18.1 Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Terabyte S.A.S regarding the use of the Application and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
18.2 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
18.3 Waiver
No waiver of any term of these Terms shall be deemed a further or continuing waiver of such term or any other term, and our failure to assert any right or provision under these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.
18.4 Assignment
You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your rights hereunder without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms without restriction.
18.5 Force Majeure
We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, war, terrorism, riots, embargoes, acts of civil or military authorities, fire, floods, accidents, network infrastructure failures, strikes, or shortages of transportation facilities, fuel, energy, labor, or materials.

You agree to comply with all applicable export and import control laws and regulations in your use of the Application.

- Data will sync automatically when connection is restored
